“Auto Italiana are also involved with motor sport. Owner, Roy Beal, races a 250cc Kart at Dunkeswell Kart Club near Honiton, Devon. Depending on gearing, these karts will accelerate from 0-100mph in around 6 secs, and can peak at around 150mph on the right circuit. At Dunkeswell, the top speeds are around 100mph.

After winning the 2005 Dunkeswell 250 Championship, Roy’s aim this year is to defend that title and retain it.

Over the winter months, the circuit has had some work done to it. None other than 1992 Formula One World Championship winner, Nigel Mansell, now owns the circuit and has added a few more challenging corners which encourages some fantastic racing.

With his Honda CR250 powered Cyclone kart, Roy is a regular front runner amongst the other 20 or so competitors on the grid.

And yes, he knows it is not very Italian, but where else can you do those speeds an inch off the floor! If you click on the results link (coming soon), you can see how things are going for him

Auto Italiana also sponsors Colin Anderson. Colin races in Autocross in a specially built car that runs an Alfa Romeo 3.0 V6 engine in the back of it.

Racing in Class E, which is for 4wd and specials, Colin has had two race meetings this year, with some fantastic results (see results page). He races on different surfaces, from sandy beaches to muddy fields, neither of which seems to slow him down!”
